hiya folks, ok so just a quick update:

aross, i noticed the huuge number of social media and forums that you
were on last week, really really appreciated.

chris havel, thank you again for the artwork.

after over 10 days, two key discussions are still ongoing which is
great - trisquel and phoronix. the trisquel one's very supportive,
the phoronix one is a very interesting free-for-all :)

i'm beginning to get overloaded and it's affecting my health, so i am
going to need to be a leetle more careful, i don't want communications
to be adversely affected because i'm overloaded, so have put in motion
some exercises / routines to deal with that (lots of relaxation).

we've got a couple of articles coming up soon with major publications.
more are needed.

mostly, i just want to say thank you to everyone who's been helping out.

Thanks go to you, Luke, for making this project happen.

BTW, I would like to mention I've taken advantage of the fact that the
laptop EC firmware is open source, and started working on adding support
for other keyboard layouts than the default QWERTY so that I can enjoy
an AZERTY layout on my PFY laptop in April 2017. :)

In order to start developing right away, I have set up a development
environment as described here:

http://rhombus-tech.net/community_ideas/laptop_15in/pcbs/pcb2/

I am now waiting for the AZERTY keyboard to complete the setup (and
discover how good or bad I have been at soldering the cable which
connects the NUCLEO and keyboard).

The nice thing is, to test the firmware, I just have to connect the
NUCLEO to my dev machine through USB: it is recognized as (among others)
a HID input device.

Stay tuned here for progress reports. With any luck, I'll type them
using the newly supported AZERTY keyboard. :)

Amicalement,
--
Albert.

yay! thank you very much for this. if anyone else wants to do a
foreign keyboard, or just use one where they can put their own decals
on a set of blank keys....
